The aim of this project is to improve the science and art literacy skills of children aged 6-12 living in Belgium, to motivate their interest in the world of science, and to enable them to become individuals who question, analyze and research. On the other hand, it aims to enable children to make discoveries using all their senses in various branches, from music to painting, and to express themselves as they feel, by developing their relevant skills in the field of art.
Sub-goals:
- To improve Turkish children’s Turkish language skills, to raise awareness that Turkish is a language of science and art rather than a home language,
- To introduce children (and their families) to periodicals suitable for children’s age groups, where Turkish is used as the language of science.
- Introducing children (and their families) to applied art activities appropriate to children’s age groups, where Turkish is used as the language of art.
- Creating a role model for families to use Turkish outside of the home/family language function
- Language, Science and Art Workshops were organized in the cities of Ghent and Antwerp in the 2020-2021 academic year in cooperation with Brussels Yunus Emre Institute.
