Speaking skills are productive language skills and regular practice opportunities are required to improve this skill. In Belgium, teaching Turkish as a foreign language to adults continues in various adult education institutions. However, there is no special purpose language education program to improve speaking skills. “Turkish Speaking Club” started as an online event during the pandemic period with regular meetings organized within the institute to respond to this need in the field.
Our speaking club activities, which we held as 10 meetings in the 2020-2021 academic year, took place in a fun environment where the relevant words were taught and reinforced on a selected theme every week and where participants were given the opportunity to practice with a communicative method.
